Bank of Beirut will provide quarterly reports under the name of "Investor Presentation" showing an overview of the Lebanese banking sector and the performance of our bank compared to its peers, along with any expansion and important events that occurred during each quarter.

Booked Balance shows how much money you have in your account before any adjustments are made in terms of deposits in transit, or checks that have not yet been cleared. On the other hand, the Cleared Balance is the amount of money that can be withdrawn or used in your financial transactions. Until funds are considered as cleared, they are referred to as 'Uncleared' funds, meaning that one or more pending credit transactions have not yet completed the clearing cycle.

A token is a small hardware device that the owner carries as an authentication technology that is used to protect network resources.

To enroll to the Phone Banking service, you can either visit your branch to sign the related application or you can call our Contact Center on 1262 if you are residing in Lebanon, or +961 5 955 262 if you are residing outside Lebanon, where our representatives will help you in the enrollment process and send you the related PIN code via SMS.
N.B.: It is worth noting that the Phone Banking / IVR is a different service from Mobile Banking.

You may request this service from your Personal Banking Representative (PBR) or one of our Contact Center agents, for a monthly fee of LBP 1,500. 

To access your phone banking, you can dial 1262 if you are residing in Lebanon, or +961 5 955 262 if you are residing outside Lebanon, and choose your preferred language (Arabic, English or French). Then you proceed to access your account’s menu by pressing “2”, and consequently enter the below information:
-    Your account number (6 digits)
-    Your personal ID (6 digits)
-    Your IVR PIN code (4 digits)
-    Your mobile number (in case you are dialing from a phone number different from the one registered in our system)

For security reasons, the SMS service cannot be deactivated, unless you officially sign a request on your full responsibility at your branch, as per Banque du Liban requirements.

It is automatically activated within 24 hours of receiving your card. In case you face any inconvenience, do not hesitate to reach out to our Contact Center, by calling 1262 if you are a Lebanese resident and +961 5 955 262 if you live abroad.

Unfortunately, we cannot disclose such information, as it depends on many factors such as the value of your deposit, its currency, etc. Your Personal Banking Representative (PBR) can provide you with all the necessary information

These are spam messages that you ought to ignore. 

To reset you Phone Banking / IVR PIN code, you have to call 1262 if you are residing in Lebanon, or +9615955262 if you are residing outside Lebanon, where our representatives will assist you, and a temporary PIN will be sent to your mobile number via SMS. The system will ask you to change it upon your first log in.

You should fully settle your VISA payment by the 5^th of each month and your MasterCard payment by the 9^th in order to avoid extra charges. The minimum monthly payment is equal to 5% of the total amount, or USD 50.

There are five possible reasons:

• Your card might be expired. In this case, you need to contact your branch and request its replacement.
• You might have entered the wrong credentials (i.e.: wrong card number, wrong expiry date or wrong CVV).
• The website you are trying to make your purchase through might not accept cards from the Middle East for security reasons.
• There may not be enough funds in your card’s account.
• A connection error may have occurred during the processing of the transaction, please try again later.

To change your Online / Mobile Banking password, either log on to your online banking account and go to Home --> User Profile and change your password, or log on through the iMobile banking app and go to Menu --> Change Password and conduct the necessary changes.

Due to Banque du Liban regulations, prepaid cards are no longer available at any Lebanese bank. However, you may instead request our SKIP internet debit card.

In case of normal card deactivation, you must visit your branch, deliver the card to be deactivated and request its deactivation accordingly.

PIN Codes are there for you to conduct safe transactions over our ATMs and Points of Sale.
If you are using a Debit Card, you will be asked to introduce your PIN code over both ATMs and Points of Sale.
If you are using a Credit Card, you will be asked to introduce your PIN code over ATMs only.

If you notice a transaction on your account / card that you didn’t make, immediately call your home branch or our Contact Center on 1262 if you are residing in Lebanon, or +961 5 955 262 if you are residing outside Lebanon, in order for us to temporarily block your account / card, conduct the appropriate investigation and take the correct resolution measures.

It will be automatically activated within 24 hours following the signature of the acknowledgment of receipt you have received upon card delivery. If you are transferring money between Bank of Beirut accounts, the transfer is instantly completed. Local wire transfers take up to 4 working days, while international transfers take up between 4 and 7 working days. 

You can transfer a maximum amount of:

• USD 30,000, for internal transfers.
• USD 15,000, for wire transfers.
• USD 2,000, for InstaCash transfers.

Kindly note that self-employed individuals have to visit a regular branch, rather than a Smart / Satellite Branch. 

You should be an employee for a minimum of 2 consecutive years or self-employed for 3 years.
However, this criterion is subject to change, as special features for employees within prime companies may be offered. As a result, it is preferable to visit one of our branches to have an accurate answer.

There are many current accounts (e.g.: Checking, University, Wedding, Salary Domiciliation, etc.) and, as a result, the charges differ from one account to another.

No, you have to be physically present at one of our branches.

We welcome all nationalities’ holders who wish to open an account at our bank. Your file will be sent to the concerned department for approval and you might be requested to present additional documents.

The minimum required amount varies based on the type of account. 

You only need to pay LBP 5,000 for the required fiscal stamps.
